Our History

Anxiety Neighborhood has undergone numerous changes over the years. Originally known as "Krebbsville" and founded by Steve Ward of tAPir and coder, Kelley Rogers, in 1996, the site quickly expanded and outgrew its resources on the tAPir site.

After receiving a favorable review in the September 1997 issue of “Wired” (pg. 78), the founders moved to a new website and changed the name to Aranuem Nostrum.

In 1999 we introduced the Playground Plus talker code, which provided swift and easy access to our talker and included features like resident rooms, mail, news, games, robots and a friend lists and channels.

Once the new talker code was introduced, the website was updated to reflect the changes and once again a "new look" greeted guests and residents.

Caroline Rogers, Kelley's wife, was now overseeing the Araneum Nostrum project with the help of volunteers - including Jodes who was responsible for re-creating Araneum Nostrum with the new Playground Plus code.

The new Millennium has ushered in many changes for our program. LP took over the project after Caroline decided to refocus her time to working with primates. We have again introduced a new name, Anxiety Neighborhood, which we feel best describes our chat. We have also revamped our website to include more information and make it more user-friendly and accessible to those seeking help.

Come join the neighborhood and be a part of it’s future!
